You have been sent to the seemingly untouched lands of Malmyr. It is said that there are vast amounts of the rarest and most valuable metals to be found. As you discover Malmyr, you will find evidence about the vanished civilization that once lived here: The dwarves.
Malmyr is a hybrid of city building and automation games. In contrast to other well known games of these genres the player is not meant to build the biggest city or largest factory. Malmyr's gameplay is focused on logic and creativity to accomplish the game's challenges. Each of the 12 missions of Malmyr's storyline have their own look & feel and compel the player to learn something new. Especially the quite unique resource transport mechanics stand out.
In a couple of weeks we will release a new patch for Malmyr. It will contain a variety of new features (and therefore new ways to beat and play the game) for the rune and runeword system. The patch also adds localization into French, Russian and German to the game.
Your King tasks you to explore Malmyr and harvest its valuable resources. You will find vast forests, fertile soil and dry heathlands, but also beautiful
oceans and snowy mountains.
Wood, clay and stone can be used to construct your buildings. On the fertile soil of Malmyr you can plant vegetables as food for your workers. Pig pens will provide meat for your kitchens. Hops can be used for brewing tasty dwarven beer.
The more you explore Malmyr, the more ores you will find: From copper and tin to
silver and gold. Old dwarven texts say, that there even might be deposits of the legendary mythril.
Ore doesn't transform on its own into a processed state. You will need to mine it, crush it to smaller pieces in a rapper and melt it into ingots at the foundry. Finally the goldsmith can make elegant jewelery from it. At some point, it will not be enough to just send your workers into the mines, they will need mining tools and bronze lanterns to get to the most precious ores.
Ancient ruins tell a story of an old civilization inhabiting these lands way before you came
along: Malmyr once was home to the dwarves. They left a extensive heritage of technology behind.
To be able to fulfil your King's and his Court Magicians demands, dwarven runes will prove to be an invaluable tool. Each rune you find has its own powers that will help you. It seems to be possible to transform the Lands of Malmyr itself with these runes. Inscriptions in the ruins tell you about certain combinations of runes that are even more powerful.
Since we can remember we wanted to make games. Not to get rich or become famous: We want to create awesome experiences for players.
After finishing our studies, we decided to go for it. This is our first project. We might have no funding, but we are making up for it with dedication and love for detail.
Our Vision: Making dreams come true!
Philip has a master's degree in the field of game development. He handles the tough design questions with very talented hands.
He made his first steps over 15 years ago, when he started making games with the well known RPG Maker. Working on games is the thing he always did.
René just finished his master's thesis about game-based learning in the field of computer science. He is the one who produces a lot of the code (and bugs).
As early as in kindergarden he drew race tracks and Super Mario levels on paper and "played" them. Now he finally has the skills to make games that others can enjoy on their computers.
